Thanks for your interest in Psychology Today magazine. Our print magazine explores every aspect of human behavior, from the cultural trends that reflect the way we think to the inner workings of individual brains. Psychologists and mental health professionals read PT, as do curious and intelligent lay readers.

If you are a clinician, scientist, mental health expert, or writer who would like to publish regular pieces on a particular theme or set of topics, please first consider making a blog proposal. Many of our magazine contributors begin as Psychology Today bloggers.

What We Need

We are looking for good, clearly articulated story ideas—and writers with talent to bring these ideas to life. Nearly any subject related to psychology is fair game. We value originality, insight, and good reporting. We do not consider poetry or fiction.

How to Get an Assignment

Please explain what you'd like to write and, if applicable, mention sources you might contact. Let us know if you think your proposal is suited for a particular section of the magazine. Tell us why you want to write this piece now and why you should be the one to write it.

If your writing has been published before, attach or include links to 1-3 clips.

Due to the amount of queries we receive our staff is not able to respond in all cases.

We use Submittable to accept and review our submissions.
